Black and white portrait of Jean-Marie Bonthous

Jean-Marie Bonthous (publishing as J.M. Bonthous) is the author of more than two dozen books on photography, art, filmmaking, the human dimensions of AI, and business transformation.

He also creates what he calls Imagined Photographs—works made with generative AI and inspired by the humanist photographic tradition. These images celebrate the quiet dignity of simple lives through themes of solitude, longing, kindness, companionship, and the passage of time.

Before turning to writing and art, he spent several decades advising multinational organizations as a management consultant.

He divides his time between New York, Mexico City, and the South of France.
